*This is not a complete list of upcoming anime for Fall and for 2010,

      but rather those I think are worth spending my time watching.

Fall 09’

1) Darker than Black: Gemini of the Meteor -Oct.8

drama, psychological, science fiction, supernatural

Plot Summary: Two years have passed since Hei and Yin escaped the Syndicate after the events of the first season. Making their way to Russia, Hei encounters a young girl named Suou Pavlichenko, whose family is gradually pulled into the war between contractors and various intelligence factions. Meanwhile, Misaki Kirihara has quit her position in Foreign Affairs to begin her own investigations into Hei, the Contractors and the Syndicate.

2) Fairy Tail -Oct.12

adventure, comedy, fantasy

Plot Summary:
Lucy is a teenage girl who wants to become a full-fledged mage. One day when visiting Harujion Town, she meets Natsu, a young man who gets sick easily by any type of transportation. But Natsu isn’t just any ordinary kid, he’s a member of one of the world’s most infamous mage guilds: Fairy Tail.

Sometime in 2010

1) Omamori Himari

action, comedy, romance

Plot Summary: The slapstick romantic comedy centers around an ordinary 16-year-old high school boy named Yūto Amakawa who is protected by a spirit – specifically, a beautiful, sword-wielding cat girl spirit named Himari. Yūto is descended from a family that has subjugated demons since time immemorial. The charm that once protected him is now impotent, but fortunately, at that same moment, Himari appears before him as his new guardian.

2) Harukanaru Toki no Naka de 3 Owari Naki Unmei

drama, fantasy, romance

3) Sengoku Basara’s – Season II

action

Plot Summary: In the bloody Warring States period of feudal Japan, many generals fought in an endless struggle for power, but one man proved to be too big a threat – The dark lord Oda Nobunaga. Sanada Yukimura and Date Masamune, two young warriors from different regions who become heated rivals, begin to form an unlikely alliance with the rest of the generals to take down the Devil King.

4) Kaichō wa Maid-sama

comedy, romance

Plot Summary: In a high school recently turned from all-boy to coed, Misaki Ayuzawa, chairwoman of student council, battles "stinky and dirty" male students every day to protect the few (20%) females in school. Off campus, she works hard at a maid café to supplement the income of her household (as well as leftover foods) after her father had deserted the family — whose action contributed to her hatred toward males. However, Takumi Usui, a handsome guy (and a heartbreaker of many girls) accidentally found out her double identities. She thought the entire school would know by the next morning, yet he kept her secret away from others, making her even more suspicious of his motives.

Hanasakeru Seishounen was not on the list (weep) =(

This video is a little strange its basically a girl (Amane<~could have sworn it was a boy) walking around with a strange looking robot and then we see her lack of reaction when he robots taken away, its not translated, but then they don’t really say all that much in the video. As for the song i wasn’t sure if I would like it,  but the interesting beats grows on you. The song is called "River’s Edge" by the Japanese musical duo Nichika. Amanatsu is a CG anime short that is created by Kamikaze Douga.

The title of the project title comes from the name a robot created by a scientistist in a near future sci-fi story. The scientist, Souichi Makimura, also created something called Amon a perpetual motion machine that can sustain an energy dome that humans live in 20 years after the last of the energy wars and Environmental catastrophes had devastated the world. The story starts with Amanatsu (the robot) grabbing the key to the perpetual motion machine and starts off for the "end of the world".

The managing director of the Association of Japanese Animations, Yauo Yamagushi, says that the Anime Industry is a "bubble several years ago that burst. The marketplace is on a falling curve due to declining birth rates and the recession." The popularity of Anime has risen and fallen over the years, the numbers of Anime Shows have been, in year 2000 it was 124 and in year 2006 it was 306. The numbers have fallen since then to 288 in 2008 and in 2006 it was 60, but only 30 anime shows were expected to premiere this past April. The domestic sales of Anime has also risen and fallen over the years The Japan External Trade Organization blames online distribution of fan-subbed Anime, in file sharing sites. Another problem is that the same types of Anime are being released, with similar elements; bishōjo and mecha elements. Yamagushi, also says that Japan is falling behind China in numbers of titles produced yearly, he gave the suggestion that Japan should worry more about “quality over quantity.”

The Assistant in Funimation, Brand Manager: Justin Rojas confirmed that Vandread Integral and Vandread Turbulence OVA’s were licensed by them, and they now own the North American licenses. Integral: will be is a summary of the 1^st Vandread sci-fi anime series, into a 75 minute movie. Turbulence: will be a summary of Vandread: the 2^nd stage follow up series into a 90 minute movie. The release date for these OVA’s is still unknown.

Has the economical problems in the U.S. made you worry that dwindling sales will cause your favorite Anime series to disappear from stores near you? Well, don’t worry anymore! Japan is creating funding program called Contents Overseas Development Fund to help expand Japanese Media to all parts of the world! Excited? I am! (I wonder if this fund will actually give people money so we can go out and buy their products! Just a suggestion! *Hint, Hint*) Sadly, that is not the case, the money will be used to promote overseas expansion in “license acquisitions from domestic production companies and creators, as well as investments in overseas production companies..”

The Kadokawa Anime Channel has released the first two episodes of Basquash! Anime Series on YouTube. The Anime Basquash! is about characters that can play basketball while riding on a Mecha, called Big Foot! The Anime is takes place in a world called Earth Dash, the humans are more advanced than normal humans. Dan JD is the main character in this series and he and his friends play Basquash!
